LAUSD has prepared a simple specification to ensure that minimum standards are met in the design and selection of Valve Station components based on supply line size.  Because this specification is conservative in nature, it is possible that a detailed review of actual demand may result in a selection of smaller components.  These alternate designs may be accepted in those cases where the supplier provides certification of performance to the stated demand and pressure requirements.

This section provides the LAUSD product index for Contract C-516, and a set of selection criteria that may provide more efficient, less expensive sizing results.  It also provides a simple order form to guide you.  In all cases, it is suggested that you contact Clarke Sales for technical support in order to help determine the best valve station design for your installation (661-294-0901)

Basic Design Note:

Valve Stations should combine as many functions as possible into each assembly.  For example:

    Strainer / Pressure Reducing Valve /Backflow Preventer
